WPQ Development Pathway Selection Committee

Dear WPQ Members, Clubs and Associations,

On behalf of the WPQ Board, I am excited to call for Expressions of Interest for positions on the WPQ Development, Pathway and Selection Committee (DPS).

The DPS Committee is a sub-committee of the WPQ Management Committee and has been designed to oversee the establishment of a pathway and development framework for WPQ that covers athletes, coaches, selectors, referees and officials.

The Committee will work closely with the recently established position of WPQ Head of Performance and Pathways to develop an annual calendar and pathway program, including but not limited to State Teams, Talent Development programs, coach and referee development. This will also include Coach, Referee and Official education, workshops and training opportunities, including a State-wide mentoring program.

 

An integral role of the DPS Committee will be to assess, identify and appoint Water Polo Queensland representatives including athletes, coaches, selectors, referees, team managers and other officials.

The DPS will oversee the development and review of WPQ policies, procedures, agreements and rules in relation to State selection, tours, pathways, programs and competitions.

Suitably qualified and experienced people are encouraged to submit an EOI for this DPS Committee and should be able to satisfy at least one of the criteria listed below:

• Advanced coaching/selection/athlete development experience/qualifications

• Advanced officiating experience/qualifications (inclusive of referees and/or technical delegates)

• Experience as a high-performance water polo athlete, coach, referee and/or official

• Sport/exercise science experience/qualifications
