Flat out at the Falls
We are excited to announce that this year's Flat Out At The Falls is back to the regional far north Queensland.
Water polo will be returning to the iconic freshwater location of Malanda Falls, in the heart of the scenic Atherton Tablelands. The competition will be hosted at the Malanda Falls and the competition format of the event will be Beach Water Polo 4's.

Event
Water Polo at the 2023 Flat Out At The Falls will be run as a club/team-based event following FINA Beach Water Polo 4 Rules.
All teams shall consist of 3 field players and 1 goal keeper. For mixed teams, there must be 2 males and 2 females in the field of play at all times.
Team registrations will be limited to a minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 athletes per team.

Water Polo Queensland welcomes registrations from existing clubs, schools, and social players/teams.
Divisions
Flat Out At The Falls will offer Water Polo in the following divisions:
- Juniors - Mixed (Born 2008 and below, minimum age is born 2011)
- Opens Social - Mixed (Born 2007>) (Born 2008 are eligible with an Age exemption: as per WPQ Age Eligibility Policy)
- Opens Competitive– Ladies, Men & Mixed (Born 2007>) (Born 2008 are eligible with an Age exemption: as per WPQ Age Eligibility Policy)
- Minimum of 4 teams per division - if we get less, we would look to merge
Competitive Opens is the championship-level competition. Players registering in this division will be battling it out for the title of the best team in the event.
Social Junior and Open Mixed divisions are social-orientated competitions designed to allow beginners and intermediate players an opportunity to grow and develop against players of similar ability.
Participants are encouraged to register for multiple divisions. Players are invited to attend the event from schools, universities, and social teams from all over Queensland, Australia, or Internationally.
The focus will be on having fun and enjoying the natural beauty of the location.
Participation Fee
The team entry fee will be $300
Individual participation fee will be $50 for the first division nominated and an additional $30 for the second division.
Please Note: Participation fee does not include travel or accommodation.
New to Water Polo/Returning to Water Polo for the first time this season?
A Minimum registration requirement for the event is a “Bronze membership” with WPA/WPQ to attend the event.
Already participating in Water Polo?
A Minimum registration requirement for the event is a “Silver membership” with WPA/WPQ to attend the event.
