2022 Queensland Country Teams Announcement

WPQ would like to congratulate the following players on their selection in the 2022 Qld Country Teams to participate in the WPA Australian Country Championships from Weds 27 to Sat 30 April with the event to be played in Northern NSW at Ballina, Lismore and possibly Alstonville.

Active Clubs Applications Now Open for Round 2

Active Clubs Round 2 will provide funding for not-for-profit local and regional sport and recreation organisations to support volunteers and provide flexible and safe physical activity opportunities to increase sport and recreation participation. Funding of $2,000 (GST exclusive) is available for approved organisations for volunteer training and recognition, education, equipment, covid safe related expenses and other eligible costs that meet the program objectives.

Summer Slam Week 2 Results

Another week of competition and the champions U20's Summer Slam have been crowned. Congratulations to all QLD teams and athletes who participated, and a big thankyou to all coaches, managers, table officials and volunteers.  A big thank you to Water Polo Australia for running this successful event!

WPQ Junior Country Championships Wrap-Up

The inaugural 2021 Water Polo Queensland Junior Country Championships saw regional Queensland’s best athletes converge at the magnificent St Andrew’s Aquatic Centre on the Sunshine Coast for a weekend of action packed water polo. Athletes and Teams from the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Dalby, Rockhampton, Townsville, Mackay and Cairns made up the 27 teams who battled it out for the gold, silver and bronze in each division.

Jordan Sheterline resigns as WPQ State Competitions & Events Co-ordinator

It is with sadness and disappointment that I advise you that Jordan Sheterline has tendered his resignation as Water Polo Queensland’s State Competitions and Events Co-ordinator and will finish up with Water Polo Queensland (WPQ) on Tuesday 16 November. However, Jordan will stay involved in a part-time capacity from 16 to 28 November to see out the finals of the 2021 Premier League.
