WPQ Operations Manager - Vacancy

Water Polo Queensland Inc. (WPQ) is recruiting for a new role – Operations Manager to commence as soon as possible.

The WPQ Operations Manager will oversee the planning, management and delivery of State events and competitions across Queensland, including the management and review of all State competition and event manual, policies, rules and procedures. This role may also assist in the delivery of other Local, Regional, State, National and International events hosted in Queensland and will work very closely with relevant stakeholders.

This position will oversee the WPQ Competitions and Events Framework and the 3-year competitions and events calendar which aligns with the WPQ Pathway and Development Framework. In conjunction with other WPQ Staff, this position will also support the coordination and delivery of the WPA Learning & Development Framework and WPQ mentoring programs to build the capability and capacity of coaches, referees and officials.

The role will be integral in increasing participation and retention of players and officials and developing collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups including athletes, coaches, referees, officials and Club and Association volunteers.

The Operations Manager will assist in delivering the recently awarded Sport Australia participation grant locally as part of the national strategy, including but not limited to increasing adult participation (18-35 years) in water polo, with a target audience primarily of university students and winter invasion sport participants.
