On behalf of WPQ, I am very excited to announce that a short time ago, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk revealed Queensland will move into step one of re-opening on Saturday, May 16. WPQ commend the Queensland Government for releasing the ‘Roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions’ in a step-down approach to Covid-19 which is welcomed by all Queenslanders and in particular the water polo community (refer diagram below).
Water Polo Queensland (WPQ) like so many organisations and businesses are in unchartered territory as we deal with the very real challenges presented by Covid-19. The impact on the entire sport and recreation sector has been substantial.
Water Polo Queensland would like to offer all members the opportunity to become an accredited coach or referee, or upgrade to a higher level, the opportunity to do this at a discounted rate.
WPA have commenced their consultation meetings with a number of State and Territories to develop a whole of sport strategy. Over the last 2 weeks WPA and the independent Consultant have been in Queensland and have conducted a stakeholder forum and have also met with the WPQ Board.
