Recruitment underway for Water Polo Chief Executive Officer

In partnership with Australia’s leading sports recruitment agency, Sportspeople, the Water Polo Queensland Board has begun the process of recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into the sports next chapter ahead of the 2032 Home Olympics.
Sportspeople will manage the recruitment process, drawing on their expertise to find the best candidates for the Water Polo Queensland Selection Panel to review ahead of the interview process, which will start towards the end of November. The five-member Selection Panel comprises:
- Scott Bishton - Water Polo Queensland Board Member (Panel Chair)
- Anica Bussell - Water Polo Queensland Board Member
- Richard McInnes - Water Polo Australia CEO
- Bronwen Knox - National Integrity Manager (Taekwondo, Boxing, Judo) and 4x Olympian
- Chris Corbin - President of Queensland Thunder AWL team and former National & AWL player
With the support of Water Polo Australia, David Nissen will work with current WPQ CEO, Mel Woosnam, to ensure a smooth handover between the two periods. David is an experienced Sports Administrator and will be acting as an interim CEO and will be on hand to support the WPQ team during a busy time of the year.
