This year, the All-Star Seven consists of seven exceptional players, each chosen by the appointed WPQ state team selectors from the championships. The 2025 Queensland State Titles Championships for the 12&U and 16&U division came to an exciting close on the Gold Coast, where 50 teams played at Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, Southport for four action-packed days of water polo. With intense competition in both the 12&U and 16&U divisions, this year’s event set a new standard for Queensland water polo.

2024/2025 Brisbane Metropolitan Junior Competition Concludes After Successful Season

The 2024/2025 Water Polo Queensland Brisbane Metropolitan Junior Competition has officially wrapped up after 17 weeks of competition, bringing together young athletes, dedicated coaches, officials, and supporters across South East Queensland. The season, running from October 2024 to March 2025, saw 2,359 athletes compete in 281 teams across 34 divisions, with a total of 1,936 fixtures played at seven venues.

The 2025 Queensland Senior Country Championships have come to an exciting close in Mackay, with regional teams from across the state delivering high-intensity performances across three days of competition. With Queensland’s top regional players battling for gold, the tournament showcased the best of country water polo.

Gold Coast Water Polo Hosts Inaugural U12 Fun 5’s Day

On Sunday 12 January, Gold Coast Water Polo Association hosted the inaugural U12 Fun 5’s Day. It was an exciting event designed to grow the sport of water polo among younger athletes across various regions. The day brought together teams from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour, and Alstonville. Held at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, Southport, the event saw a fantastic turnout, with 11 teams, over 80 young athletes, and more than 30 games played throughout the day.

That's a Wrap to the Queensland Junior Country Championships

The 2024 Queensland Junior Country Championships delivered an action-packed weekend of water polo, with 28 teams and 326 athletes battling it out in 81 games from December 6-8 on the Gold Coast. The competition showcased the best junior regional talent from across the state, with teams from Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and regional Queensland putting on an incredible display of skill and sportsmanship.

The Brisbane Metropolitan Junior Competition Begins Today! Water Polo Queensland is proud to kick off the highly anticipated 2024/25 Brisbane Metropolitan Junior Competition! With over 280 teams and more than 2,000 athletes taking to the pools this season, the competition is set to be one of the largest and most exciting events in junior water polo. This competition brings together players from across Brisbane and South-East Queensland, spanning six age groups and a variety of divisions.

National Water Polo Day

Water Polo Queensland is celebrating National Water Polo Day by delivering the WPQ Junior Festival in the Moreton Bay region on the 14 & 15 September. The festival is an all-inclusive introduction to water polo and will include a mini tournament with modified rules that will encompass a skills and drills session on both days. WPQ encourages all clubs and individuals to register for the event and gives water polo a go.
