Come'n'Try Success
Water Polo Queensland would like to thank all of those who attended the Come'n'Try days over the last 3 Sunday's, as well as all the volunteers who gave up their Sunday afternoon's to run the day's.
The Come'n'Try day's were run over the 8 venues across South East Queensland and Mackay. The 9th of Septemeber was our biggest day, with 214 participants over the 8 venues. We have also had multiple participants from the days register to play Water Polo for the upcoming 2012/13 season.
Numerous Olympians also gave back to their local clubs by attending the Come'n'Try days, signing autographs and posing for pictures.
The winner of the prize for registering through the Water Polo Queensland website was Lachlan Power. Lachlan attended the Carina Warriors Come'n'Try day's. The prize was picked at random with each participant given a number and then a random number was drawn.
"Lachlan had a lot of fun at the Come'n'Try day's and mixed well with the other kids his age. Lachlan comes from a Swimming and Rugby background and was looking for a team sport to do over summer" Sharon, Lachlan's mum quoted. Lachlan turns 11 in October and looks set to sign up for Flippa Ball.
Overall the Come'n'Try days have been a success with a lot of people getting their first taste of Water Polo. The feedback that we have had from both participants and clubs has been great.
