(Please Read Below to see if your school would be interested)
Dear Sir or Madam,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Daniel Almond and I am employed as the Junior Development Officer for Water Polo Queensland. I would like to offer your school our ‘KFC Fun with Flippa Ball’ program, which we will conduct over the Term Four (4) and Term One (1) period.
What is Flippa Ball? Flippa Ball is a modified version of the game of water polo, which has been designed for children from the age of eight (8) through to twelve (12). It is a fun, simple game that can be played by all children regardless of their height, gender and most importantly of all, their swimming ability. Being a modified version of water polo, Flippa Ball is played in the shallow end of the pool so that the children may use the bottom of the pool to rest and for added security and safety. The basic rules of the game are quite simple for example;
1. Children may catch the ball with two (or one) hand, but can only pass or shoot with one hand.
2. Whilst holding the ball, children are not permitted to walk along the bottom of the pool. They must attempt to either swim with the ball or pass the ball to a team mate.
3. Children are not permitted to take the ball under the water when they have possession of the ball.
4. When a child has hold of the ball, they cannot be tackled and other players must allow the player in possession of the ball to be able to pass or shoot the ball.
These are the basic rules of the game, which resembles a combination of netball, soccer and basketball but played in the water using water polo rules for the remainder of the game.
The program is conducted by accredited Water Polo Development Officers who will provide all the equipment necessary to conduct the lessons. Please contact me for the cost of per student for the program. Schools will receive an invoice at the completion of the program to allow for any changes in class sizes over the sessions.
I sincerely hope that we can work with your school to provide the students with a fun, safe aquatic game that develops hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, team building skills, swimming, passing and shooting. Should you be interested in having one of our development officers visit your school, please advise me via the following contact details.
