Water Polo Queensland run various representative opportunities for members, including attendance at Invitational International Tournaments, National Championships, Test Series and various training programs and opportunities.

State Teams

QLD send approximately 10 State Teams away each year from January through to July. Selections are through attendance at the appropriate state titles and state team training programs.

Emerging Athlete Program

WPQ are committed to the development of sub elite athletes. Our primary role here is to identify and develop talented athletes, including those with potential to reach this level, with the aim of providing a sufficient pool of talented athletes to sustain high performance programs and activities in our sport. Such opportunities include pathways to selection in the Queensland Academy of Sport, National Youth Squads, state teams, etc.

Queensland Academy of Sport Program

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is the breeding ground for producing the sporting champions of today and tomorrow. Supporting more than 600 athletes across 22 different sports and through individual scholarships, the Academy provides its athletes with access to world-class sporting facilities, coaching and support services.
